Description
The wine is greenish yellow in colour, brilliantly clear and fairly viscous. The bubbles are fine and numerous, with prolonged effervescence.
The bouquet is fairly intense, very refined, rich and quite persistent. Fruit and grassy aromas dominate. A lovely yeasty note emerges, along with baked sponge, buttery biscuit, ripe pear, citrus (particularly grapefruit) and hay. The nose is fairly rich.
On the palate, the wine is dry, moderately fresh and warm and flavourful. It is full-bodied and well balanced and shows fairly intense flavour. The finish is persistent and the wine is harmonious. Ready to drink with good potential for further development over the coming years.
Recommended with raw scampi drizzled with mild olive oil or a very mild young cow’s cheese.
